About the Program
St. Thomas Aquinas Preschool is an accredited preschool program and follows an age-appropriate Diocesan curriculum. A monthly class calendar is sent home outlining theme-based activities. Emphasis is placed on social skills, self-help skills, eye-hand coordination, language development, letter identification, letter-sound correspondence, number recognition, computer skills, art, music, dramatic play and religion. STA utilizes the Language Enrichment Activities Program (LEAP) developed by SMU's Early Childhood Development department as well as Handwriting Without Tears, Get Set for School Language and Math/Numbers and Counting to build our PK students’ early learning foundations. Along with a regular daily schedule, the faculty provides a structured classroom environment, teacher-directed activities, as well as a wide variety of age-appropriate learning materials.
A child must be four years old on or before September 1st and be potty trained to attend preschool at St. Thomas Aquinas.
