Mary Packard
Welcome to my home away from home, the STA Lower School Library! I hope it will become your special place as well. Weve moved into a new space this year, on the second floor of the gym foyer. The Catholic Foundation donated this beautiful Childrens Library.
This will be my fourth year as Lower School Librarian. I also taught Lower School Art for one year. I earned my degree in Library Science from Texas Womens University in Denton and have worked in many different libraries over twenty years---public, academic and special. If there is one common thread in all of them, it is that the patrons are intelligent. If you want your child to succeed, READ! Read to them, read with them, have them read on their own.
I want everyone to be comfortable and excited about reading! There is no greater skill for a young scholar to possess than to enjoy reading. In a library, your dreams are only limited by your desire. Select what you want and go explore the world around you.
When not at STA, I love to be with my husband, Bruce and our seven children, Maresa, Zachary, Aaron, Nathan, Luke, Jacob and Daniel. We enjoy movies, sports, games and activities in the great outdoors!
