I am Bill Fountain, Theater Arts and Technology teacher at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School. I grew up in Pleasant Grove in Dallas. I was a child actor, appearing in commercials, films and stage plays. In high school, I studied acting, commercial art and cinematography. I also won acting awards in UIL competitions. I made my first film my senior year and won an international film award for the project. I also drew a weekly comic strip for twenty years. I have written over one hundred articles about blues music history for several international music magazines and books.

I attended the University of Texas at Dallas, and graduated cum laude with Bachelor Degree in Art and Humanities. While completing an approved Masters Thesis, I started a career in graphic novel illustration. I have created, drew and written several critically acclaimed graphic novels including interpretations of Edgar Allan Poes The TellTale Heart and The Raven. I took my graphic novel of the The Raven and a dramatic performance of the poem into ten school districts and museums, conducting lectures and workshops with middle and high school students.

I have recently moved back into theatre, where I have won awards for acting, directing, sound design and writing. Several of my original plays have been published and produced, including the award winning Hecate Hill (published by Playscripts) and The White Rock Lake Disturbance (published by NextGen London). My childrens plays have been produced and performed numerous times both locally and abroad.

Currently, I work around the Texas area as a playwright, actor, sound designer, light designer, art designer and director. I serveson the Advisory Board of two theatre companies and have been elected the President of the newly created Met Theatre in Oak Cliff, Texas; a company I founded with several other artists. I am also the founder and artistic director of his own theatrical troupe Level Ground Arts.

I teach theatre arts and technology to students 5th through 8th grade at Saint Thomas Aquinas School. I have been selected as a Whos Who Among American Educators and selected by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council (CYLC) in Washington to serve as an Educational Advisor to the National Young Leaders State Conference. I was also selected to attend a series of Broadway Workshops with Stephen Schwartz this last year, and was recently named Best Low-Budget Theater Director by the Dallas Observer
