Shannon Storey
I grew up in Dallas and graduated from Kimball H.S. in Oak Cliff. Although I loved playing all kinds of school and club sports while growing up, and still do, I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship and play soccer at San Diego State University, where I majored in Philosophy with a minor in Literature. I have taught anything from philosophy and ethics to literature and math at various schools until I found the place and family I truly love eight years ago at St. Thomas Aquinas, where I have taught physical education ever since. Besides the overall community at St. Thomas, the thing I love most about teaching is seeing the growth in both social skills and physical abilities of the students. During my time away from the school I coach soccer for the DFW Tornados FC and I still enjoy being active and play any sport that others are willing to play; I also enjoy reading, watching movies and writing short stories and scripts. My overall favorite philosophy for teaching is that no matter what kind of vine you pull from the earth, it will always be connected to something.
