STA Upper School Art Department is pleased to announce the Art Enrichment Week guest artist is Olivia Cole. She will be in the art room on Monday, February 18 and Tuesday, February 19 inspiring all spring upper school art classes with her religious art murals. This week celebrates the importance of art in our student’s lives, and all the hallways are decorated with amazing work from the fall semester art classes. If you have not had a chance to see the art show, please visit before March 1.
Olivia is a visual artist based in Dallas. Primarily using oils, she paints a variety of different subjects, including portraits, figures, religious and sacred art, as well as more abstract paintings. In all of her work, she is interested in grappling with the complexity of human spirituality and emotion.
A graduate of the art program at the University of Dallas, Olivia has shown work throughout the DFW. Her most recent endeavors involved two separate journeys to Prizzi, Sicily, to paint public murals pertaining to the religious culture of the area. Now back in Dallas, when she is not painting in her Lakewood Heights studio, she is involved in the music ministry at St. Thomas Aquinas Church and School as a cantor, music assistant and choir member.
