Admissions FAQs

Admission to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School is competitive at various grade levels. We accept an average of 60 new PK students, 22 new kindergarten students, and 8 new 1st grade students per year. Because attrition rates are very low, spots are limited in the upper grades.

We are a parish school so applicants of families who are current parishioners of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church are reviewed first. Please note that being a parishioner does not guarantee a spot at STA School. 

To apply for PK children must turn 4 by September 1 in the year they will attend STA. Applicants must turn 5 years old by September 1 to be eligible for kindergarten.

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School does not have a waitlist for families before the admissions cycle their child will be eligible to attend school. Please plan on applying the year that your child will turn 4 by September 1 for PK.

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School has student support services at both campuses. With a priority to help assess areas where our students may need help, our teachers conduct assessments and communicate with parents when the need arises.

Our Lower School student support team includes two reading specialists, a full-time counselor and learning specialist, a full-time nurse, and a dean of students.

The Upper School support team includes two learning specialists, a full-time counselor, a full-time nurse and two dean of students.

Current families must go through the application process for any new children to attend the school including PK. Each application is reviewed on his or her own merit.

Yes. We are a uniform school. Students have a variety of options to fit their comfort level. The uniform guidelines can be found here. 

Our students and faculty enjoy scheduled free dress and spirit wear days throughout the year. 

No. Per Diocesan policy, all children must be up-to-date on their vaccinations each year to attend school. Waivers and exemptions are not accepted. Please note, if you submit an application with a waiver or exemption, we can not process your application or refund the application fee.

Our Extended Day program provides care for students from the end of the school day to 6 PM on most school days. More information and the cost of our Extended Day program can be found here.

All students may come to school as early as 7:30 AM.

The Admissions Office will release decisions to families of students applying to grades PK-8 the Friday before Spring Break. Families of applicants will have until 5:00 PM on March 31st, to enroll in the grade to which they have been accepted.

The Admissions Office holds tours and information sessions in October - January each year. Please check the website for updated dates.
