Individual Assessments (K-8)
Saturday, February 6, 2021
Students applying for K-3rd grade will test on the Lower School campus. (PK applicants do not test.)
All K-3 tests are orally presented and includes some paper and pencil activities to assess fine motor skills. In addition, we also assess applicants' language, reading, and math skills using materials that are developmentally appropriate for their age/grade level. These are fun activities and exercises to help us measure where your child is compared to our student body at this time during the school year. The tests are administered by our teachers who are familiar with the content and grade-level expectations. The test protocols for each student are reviewed by Lauren Roberts, Principal and Padmini Dayal, Counselor/Learning Specialist.
Students applying for 4th-8th grade will test at the Upper School.
Applicants will be administered the IOWA Survey Battery by Cynthia Redden, US Learning Specialist. The battery includes Reading Comprehension, Written Expression, and Math sections. The test takes approximately one hour and 40 minutes. Results of the test will let us know where your child is in comparison to where our current students are at this time in the school year.
