A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School Families,
It is with great gratitude and enthusiasm that I welcome you to the beginning of a new academic year at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School. As I begin my service as STA President, I am honored to join a community distinguished by its unwavering commitment to Catholic education, academic excellence, and the formation of students who are prepared to lead lives of faith, integrity, and purpose.
Our school takes its inspiration from St. Thomas Aquinas, whose pursuit of truth reminds us that faith and reason are complementary gifts from God. His belief that education is a pathway to wisdom continues to shape our mission today. At St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School, we are committed to forming the whole person - intellectually, spiritually, morally, and socially - so that each student is equipped to respond to God’s call with confidence and compassion. This commitment is reflected in our mission, which is grounded in the four pillars of knowledge, prayer, responsibility, and service. These pillars define not only what we teach, but who we strive to become as a Catholic school community.
As I meet members of our school family, I am deeply impressed by the dedication of our faculty and staff, the enthusiasm of our students, and the steadfast support of our parents. The partnership between home, school, and parish is central to our success, and I am grateful for the trust you place in us as we share in the important work of educating and forming your children.
As President, I look forward to building upon the strong legacy of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School while working collaboratively with Fr. Ryan, Fr. Miguel, Fr. Onyeka, our school principals, Mrs. Sara Casner and Dr. Lauren Roberts, our faculty, and our families to bring vision to our mission and ensure a vibrant future for generations to come. Together, we will continue to provide an exceptional Catholic education that inspires our students to seek truth, grow in faith, and serve others with humility and compassion.
As we begin this new school year, let us entrust our community to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the intercession of St. Thomas Aquinas. May this be a year marked by intellectual growth, spiritual development, meaningful relationships, and a renewed commitment to our shared mission.
Thank you for welcoming me into the St. Thomas Aquinas family. I look forward to meeting each of you throughout the year and to partnering with you in the education and faith formation of our students.
May God bless you and your families, and may He abundantly bless the year ahead.
Welcome back and Go Wildcats!
In Christ,
Dr. Lisa M. Long
President

Buying Lunch at STA

All students may bring their lunch or purchase from options provided by our food service vendor, Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner Caterers. All families should set up a lunch account before school starts. Instructions on how to set up and monitor your child’s account, along with monthly menus, are located on the Parents page of the school website.
- Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner Caterers (GWCTD) has an online lunch account system, LINQ Connect.
- Students have a limited lunch/recess period and are not allowed to have visitors at lunch.
- Upper School students who bring lunch from home should bring it with them in the morning. If your child accidentally forgets their lunch, you may drop it off at the Upper School front desk before 9:30 AM. After 9:30 AM, lunch drop-offs cannot be accepted, and students who do not have a lunch will need to purchase one through Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner Caterers.
- Important: Outside food delivery services are not permitted on campus. Please do not order lunch for your child through a restaurant or delivery service, as we are unable to accept or deliver these orders to students.
Extended Day at STA

STA is committed to providing a fun and safe place for your child to spend time after school. Extended Day hours are from school dismissal until 6:00 PM, and 4:00 PM on half days. An additional fee will be assessed for any child picked up after 6:00 PM or 4:00 PM on half days. The Extended Day program is full. To be placed on a waitlist contact the coordinator on your campus.

Communications
At St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School, we believe strong communication is key to a thriving school community. We use a variety of channels to keep families informed and connected, including email updates, the weekly STA newsletter, classroom communication apps, and our school website. These tools help ensure that parents stay up to date on important events, announcements, and opportunities to get involved.

STA Portal and Technology
FACT Family Portal

The FACTS Family Portal is STA’s secure online platform that keeps you connected to your child’s school experience. Through the portal, you can view attendance, report cards, and behavior records. Upper School parents can also view grades, assignments, and class schedules. It also provides access to tuition, billing, and payment plans, as well as a place to update your family’s contact information, emergency details, and authorized pickup list.

Smart Families

We know the negative impact that smart phones and social media can have on the wellbeing of our students and family life. Smart Families will be hosting a number of educational events for families and the children in our community during the school year. This is a priority for our school, and we strongly encourage all of our families to participate.
Technology

We believe that technology is a vital component in developing 21st-century learners within a collaborative educational environment. At the same time, we value and uphold traditional learning methods to ensure a well-rounded academic experience. Our approach thoughtfully integrates technology to enhance—not replace—foundational instructional practices. Students have access to devices daily as tools to support and enrich their learning. This balanced approach prepares students for the future while honoring time-tested educational methods.

Parent Organizations
STAPA - STA Parents' Association

Every STA parent is a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Parents' Association. One of the reasons STA is such a special place is parent involvement. Not only do parents provide support to our school through manpower, they make friendships that last a lifetime. Whether you want to volunteer in the classroom or at recess, help with special events, or support our teachers with projects that can be completed at your home, there is a job for everyone.

Catholic Identity and Service
Catholic Identity
At STA, students prepare for Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation through classroom instruction, prayer, and partnership with parents and the parish. These experiences strengthen their understanding of God’s grace and deepen their Catholic faith.
Service to others is a central part of our mission. Students actively live out their faith by participating in grade-level and school-wide service projects throughout the year. These experiences help foster compassion, responsibility, and a lifelong commitment to serving the greater community.

Upper School House System

Beginning at the Upper School, every STA student becomes a member of one of our seven Houses, creating connections that extend across grade levels and build a strong sense of community. Through friendly competitions, service opportunities, leadership experiences, and school traditions, the House System encourages school spirit, character development, and belonging across grade levels. While students proudly represent their individual Houses, they are united by a common purpose—living out our Catholic values and strengthening the bonds that make us One STA.
