When to Keep Your Child Home
Please keep your child home if they have experienced the following:
Fever (100 degree F or higher) - must be fever free for at least 24 hours without medication before returning to school.
- Diarrhea - must stay home a full 24 hours after the last incident.
- Vomiting - must stay home a full 24 hours after last vomiting incident.
- Strep, pink eye or other contagious bacterial infection - must stay home for at least 24 hours after first dose of antibiotic treatment.
For the safety of the students, faculty and staff at STA and the comfort of your child, please adhere to our 24 hour rule. The nurse will send your child home if they return to school too early or still experience symptoms.

Health Clinics
The Health Clinics are open at both the Lower School and Upper School campuses during school hours. Services provided by the clinics include basic first aid, managing medical emergencies, administering prescribed medications, and monitoring ill students until a parent arrives to pick them up.

Report an Absence
Notify the school of absences as soon as possible by emailing your child’s homeroom teacher and the school receptionist:

Email: Email the Upper School and Lower School.
Call: Call the Upper School or the Lower School and press 1 to leave a voicemail.

Doctor’s Notes
Per Diocesan policy, notes from the doctor/dentist office are required to return to school from an appointment.
