St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School has become a power house of basketball over the last few years. Fielding 25 teams with 218 student-athletes in 5th-8th grade and 52 plus volunteer coaches, this season it was very likely that STA would see a championship this season.
As the final seconds ticked off of the clock the sideline went crazy. Players and coaches were jumping in the air as time expired and St. Thomas won the DPL championship for the second year in a row. It was a game that was full of crucial moments and big highlights. St. Thomas entered the game as the undefeated, number one seed facing the number two seeded St. Monica Bearcats.
Volleyball season has now come to an end for STA. The Wildcats had 11 volleyball teams: 3 fifth grade, 2 sixth grade, 3 seventh grade, 2 eighth grade, and 1 coed. We are very proud of all these teams and how they played this year! 4 of those 11 teams made the playoffs: 5th grade – White, 6 th grade D1, 7th grade D1, and 8th grade D1. Our 6th grade D1, 7th grade D1, and 8th grade D1 then advanced to the semifinals.
