Each year, St. Thomas Aquinas participates in the Dallas Diocesan Speech League. We invite all 6th-8th grade students to join STA's Speech and Drama club.

By being a part of this club, students will:
• Acquire skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing
• Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Develop a sense of self confidence and poise
• Acquire knowledge, appreciation for and skills in the art of performance & public speaking

Competitions in Diocesan sponsored meets include:

• Dramatic Interpretation
• Poetry Interpretation
• Duet Acting
• Humorous Interpretation
• Prose Interpretation
• Two-Man Improvisation
• Original Oratory Storytelling TV Commercial

For the first meet, students may participate in ONE event. For the final, competitive meet in December, students may compete in up to TWO different events provided that one selection is a Section A event and the other is a Section B event.

SECTION B: Prose, Humorous, Oratory, TV Commercial, Two-Man Improv
