Back to School Guide

WELCOME to the 2020-2021 school year!

We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our students can achieve their highest potential. In order to be successful in school, we believe our children need support from both the home and school. This partnership is the difference and why we are #STAstrong!

We realize there is a great deal of information in this guide as it is comprised of a combination of standard school protocols and procedures, as well as COVID-19 related policies to ensure the safety of our students, teachers, and community. Please take some time to read all the information below and in the links so that we can all be as prepared as possible for this new school year.

Our vision is to seek the light and hope of Christ in everything we think, say, and do.

Athletics - Fall Schedule Cancelled

The Diocese and the Dallas Parochial League have agreed to offer no sports for elementary schools (5th – 8th grade) in the fall of 2020. It is impossible to conduct practices and games, contact trace for COVID-19 positive tests, and keep students in their respective cohorts (homerooms) while also limiting possible exposure for students, volunteers, and parents.

Spirit Store
The Spirit Store is open during the school year for all your STA Wildcat spirit wear needs. The store also stocks red and navy monogrammed polos, outerwear, and socks.

Uniforms
St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School is a uniform school. Uniforms are purchased through Risse Brothers School Uniforms, the school Spirit Store, and the Used Uniform Sale.

Handbook
The Parent/Student Handbook is a live document that changes as the Diocese and school administration implement and modify policy. Refer to policies and procedures at any time.

Volunteering

The teachers will need your volunteer support more than ever this year. However, volunteer opportunities will be limited this year to off-campus support and out-of-classroom projects/activities. Volunteer hour requirements will be reduced from 20 to 5 hours per family for the 2020 calendar year.  Sign up geniuses will be sent out shortly after school starts with revised and new ways you can lend your support to STA.
