Employment

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School seeks highly motivated, professional educators to engage actively with students in the classroom. To that end, we seek qualified individuals who have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to enhance the student experience at our school.

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School is the largest elementary school (PK-8th grade) in the Catholic Diocese of Dallas. Located in East Dallas, we currently enroll 882 students, of which 85% are members of the St. Thomas Aquinas Parish.

Equal Employment Opportunity

The Diocese of Dallas assures equal employment opportunity in all its employment policies and practices. These policies and practices are administered without regard to race, color, national origin, age, gender, marital status, political affiliation, veteran status, or mental or physical disabilities not affecting one’s ability to perform the essential functions of one’s job. All employment in the diocese requires compliance with moral standards acceptable to the Catholic Church. There are certain positions in the diocese for which it is necessary to be Catholic and some positions for which preference in hiring shall be given to people who are Catholic and who evidence an understanding of the Catholic faith and a commitment to living that faith. Such preference is allowed under state and federal law and does not constitute an illegal act of discrimination. In furtherance of the equal employment opportunity policy, the Diocese of Dallas will be diverse in its hiring practices.

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School and the Diocese of Dallas require all teachers to have a Bachelor’s degree, a valid state certification or at least 12 credit hours in education and the ability to be certified within a one-year period. If you do not meet these requirements, you are welcome to contact the Catholic Schools’ Office to learn about other ways you might serve.

Substitute Teaching at STA

St. Thomas Aquinas is always looking for qualified substitute teachers at both the Lower School and Upper School. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree with some educational hours and experience in working with groups of children. Substitute teachers must be safe-environment cleared through the Diocese. Contact Ginger Farrell for more information.
